Verse Of The Day : … For this day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

LISTEN : Shortly after Ezra finished reading the book of the Law to the children of Israel, and its meaning properly explained by skilled ministers of God. The people understood the word of God and also realised that, they have sinned against the LORD. They were heartbroken for disobeying the Commandments of God. The Bible says, “They read from the book of God’s law, explaining it and imparting insight. Thus the people gained understanding from what was read. Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priestly scribe, and the Levites who were imparting understanding to the people said to all of them, “This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping when they heard the words of the law… Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:8-10). Sin makes people lose their joy. We are filled with guilt and shame when God convict us of sin. But when we obey Him and turn away from evil, He strengthens our mortal body. My dear, we have no joy without the joy of the Lord. When we feel guilty about our sins, devastated by its effect, and feel hopeless about restoration, the joy of the Lord becomes our strength. The joy of the Lord is discovered on the way to repentance and restoration. When our eyes are opened to how we have failed God, we should know who God is, and realise that, we could still delight in His joy because He is a forgiving God who desires to save us. Beloved, don’t forget that, you can’t experience the joy of the Lord until you have a relationship with Him. Your relationship with God will produce His joy in your heart, restore you to a peace with God, and cause you to have a constant gladness and reason to rejoice. So, no matter what, cheer up! For the joy of the Lord is your strength. Be wise!

TOPIC : DO NOT IGNORE THE WORD OF GOD

Thursday, March 28, 2019

Bible Verse : Over and over again the LORD has sent his servants the prophets to you. But you have not listened or paid attention. Jeremiah 25:4

LISTEN : God can’t punish people without first warning them. And He whom the Lord warns He wants to save. Sadly, many choose to ignore His warnings. My dear, God is grieved and provoked to anger when you harden your heart against Him. (Ezekiel 18:4). He wants us to be opened to His words and save our lives. God commanded the Israelites to promote justice in the land; be faithful to Him, and live obediently to Him in all respect. He is saying the same thing to us today. God is interested in obedience and faithfulness to Him. My dear, are you faithful and obedient to God? Surely, if we all can choose to obey and honour God, the world will not be a terrible place to live. The world has been turned into a terrible place today because, many have rejected the ways of God. However, if we can repent and turn to Him for mercy, the world will be safe for all to live, and in the end, we will not suffer destruction.

Prayer : Everlasting Father, we all belong to you. Therefore, help us to obey you and not be destroyed, in Jesus’ name, amen.
