Verse Of The Day : For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office. Romans 12:4

LISTEN : God created us with special talents and potentials for greatness. He wants us to fulfill His purpose for our lives by enhancing our talents. However, all of that will remain dormant, or at best, partially active if you ignore or refuse the help of others. You can’t do it alone, and you can’t do it all. You need someone who shares in your visions, dreams, interests, values, etc. You need someone who is comfortable with your goals and is willing to help you achieve them no matter what. My dear, I want you to ponder on how God ‘wired the human body.’ We have cells, tissues, organs and systems in our bodies. Though they are different from one another, but they work together to achieve a common goal, for the common good of the body. Of course you know the body can’t function well in the absence of any system of the body for they are interconnected. As a matter of fact, no system of the body is insignificant. In the same way, there are certain people you must not ignore. Don’t reject to work with anyone who is willing to help you achieve your God-given goals. So, make room for, and utilise the energy, potential, and abilities of anyone and everyone who is willing to help. If you fail to appreciate the gifts of God in others, then, you have chosen to walk in ignorance. And God can’t help you when you choose to reject and despise the help He already provided for you through others. My dear, remember that, you can’t do it all, and you can’t do it alone. Therefore, work with anyone who is willing to help you. Be wise!

TOPIC : LISTEN AND BE WISE

Saturday, April 13, 2019

Bible Verse : Now listen to me, I will give you advice, and may God be with you… Exodus 18:19

LISTEN : Jethro, Moses’s father-in-law counseled him on how to go about his leadership to be successful. Though he was not as spiritual as Moses, yet, Moses accepted his counsel as better than the method he already adopted. My dear, no one can truly be successful when wise counsel (advice) is neglected or despised. The wise seeks the right counsel, while the foolish detests and ignores it. The wise believes that no one has monopoly of knowledge, hence, he listens to what others have to say in a given situation, and apply the counsels received if seen to work better in his situations. But that is not the case with the foolish. He believes that his ideas are enough for him, hence he will always fail woefully. Beloved, do you find it difficult to take advice from other people? Do you feel too big to listen to wise counsels from others? Then, you have a big problem. To excel, learn to humble yourself like Moses, and listen and receive wise counsel from others. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to accept wise counsel from others and not disregard them, in Jesus’ name, amen.
