EMPOWERED TO WIN

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you. Luke 10:19

LISTEN : It is hard to act on what you don’t know, and equally difficult to express what you don’t feel inside. To express it you must feel it. To express your authority as a child of God over the works of darkness you should know what you have in Christ Jesus. If you don’t know you have power inside you, you can express it accordingly. Until you realise what you have in Christ Jesus, Satan will turn you into a pitiable and helpless prey. Sadly, until now, many believers still struggle with their faith in Christ. They find it hard to believe that, they are what God says they are. They still find it hard to accept the fact that, they have been empowered by their faith in Christ to win. My dear, it is none of God’s fault if you fail to use the authority you have in Christ Jesus. If you are defeated in any spiritual warfare, it is not because you don’t have Christ’s authority with you, it is because you choose to be ignorant to what you have in Christ Jesus. Beloved, you have the authority of Christ to subdue demonic agents and activities. God wants you to walk in dominion (Romans 6:19-20). Therefore, to achieve this, you should walk in obedience to God, acknowledge your position in Christ (Luke 10:19); abide in Christ, worship God with commitment; and walk in reality of your dominion in Christ Jesus. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Walk in obedience to God and acknowledge your position in Christ Jesus.
2. Don’t be intimidated, rather walk in reality of dominion and worship God with commitment.
3. Grow your faith and exercise your authority in Christ over the devil.
4. Don’t be ignorant of your authority in Christ Jesus; rather, wake up from your spiritual slumber and fight.

Prayer : Dear Lord, I acknowledged that, I have been empowered for victory. Therefore, I will overcome the powers of the enemy, amen!

Reflection : It is hard to act on what you don’t know, and equally difficult to express what you don’t feel inside.

Quote : “Until you realise what you have in Christ Jesus, Satan will turn you into a pitiable and helpless prey.”

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that I have victory over Satan and his agents through Jesus Christ my Saviour, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know male and female are both referred to as ‘Man’ in the Bible? (Genesis 1:27).

Today In History : April 17, 1492 Christopher Columbus signs a contract with Spain to find a western route to the Indies.

Stunning Fact : Did you know the first toothbrush was invented in 1498?

A Word Of Blessing : Today, I decree that you will not be defeated. May God take you higher above the wishes of your enemies. May you walk in dominion henceforth, in Jesus’ name, amen.

EVENING

TOPIC : A GOOD CUSTOM

Wednesday, April 17, 2019

Bible Verse : And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up in order to read. Luke 4:16

LISTEN : What is your custom? What is it that you do regularly? Do you have the custom of being in the presence of God? As Jesus Christ arrived Nazareth where he was brought up, he exhibited the habit he had form since childhood, the habit of going to, and serving in the house of God. The Bible calls it ‘his custom.’ He formed the habit of serving and being comfortable in the presence of God. Wherever he goes, he goes with the word of God. Beloved, what is your custom? What habits are you nurturing? Are you nurturing habits that will bring glory to God and make you a better person or doing otherwise? Do you know that your habit is important to what happens to you? Bad habits equal bad life. He who nurtures a bad habit to satisfy his urge will eventually suffer the harm caused by his indiscipline. Beloved, you have a choice to nurture good habits and to reject bad ones. Make God the centre of both your habits and life, and He will make you the centre of His plan. Like Jesus, let us be prepared to nurture habits that will put God at the centre of our lives. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, help me to be addicted to your presence, in Jesus’ name, amen.
