Verse Of The Day : Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:11

LISTEN : Just few days ago, Christians around the world commemorated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His death brought our forgiveness and set the stage for our redemption, salvation, peace, eternal life, etc; and His resurrection finally perfected it all. The death of Jesus Christ is the expression of God’s love for humanity. The Bible says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16). His love for us has shown us how to love one another. God demonstrated His love through forgiveness for our sins, reconciling us to Himself, delivery our souls from eternal death and preparing for us a glorious future. Irrespective of the fact that, we are sinners, He loves us all the same. The Bible says, But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8). Therefore, we should love others, forgive them, and accept them the same way God has freely accepted everyone of us. My dear, when you refuse to love others after receiving the love of God, you have shown how ungrateful you are to divine mercy. Remember, God has shown us how to love one another; so, love dearly. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Love others the same way you will want them to love you.
2. Don’t be unreasonably bitter with your offenders, rather show some mercy.
3. Never give up on loving others, instead, love them unconditionally.
4. Don’t allow anger and bitterness to take the better part of you, instead, grow in love and grace.

Prayer : Dear Lord, You have shown us how to love one another. Therefore, help me to love others dearly, in Jesus name, amen!

TOPIC : CONTINUE IN THE WORD OF GOD

Thursday, April 25, 2019

Bible Verse : So Jesus told those Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are really my disciples. John 8:31

LISTEN : You can’t be real to God until you are determined to continue in His word. Anyone can claim to follow Jesus Christ, but not all are truly serving His purpose. Anyone can hear His words, but not everyone is loyal and faithful to Him. Only a true disciple of Christ can continue in the word of God. True disciples of Jesus Christ are known for their consistency in following Him and obeying His words. When God’s word is rejected or taken lightly, our claim to a relationship with Him is negated. No one is a true disciple of Christ who does not continue in His word. You must be fully committed to Him. Total commitment is the standard for a relationship with God. It is either you are with Him, or with the devil; or for Him, or for the devil. What makes the difference between a committed and uncommitted follower of Jesus Christ is what he or she does with the words of God. So, continue in the word of God. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, help me to continue in your word as long as I live, amen!
