Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalms 119:9

LISTEN : God is pure and wants us to stay on the path of purity. The path of purity is the path of righteousness, and the path of righteousness is the path of life. God wants us to be clean and free from immoral behaviors and qualities. He doesn’t want us to be in the ‘same mould’ with those who don’t know Him. He wants us to be separated to Him in holiness. He doesn’t want us to despise, or pour contempt on purity. My dear, to despise purity is to embrace impurity. If you hate to be pure you will love to be morally and spiritually dirty. My dear, God wants you to dedicate your life to Him. He wants you to live the rest of your life in holiness to Him. But how can you achieve that if you are not prepared to discover how? You may ask, “How possible is it to walk in purity when we live in an evil world? Is it possible to have a clean content in a contaminated vessel? Can I maintain moral purity in a corrupt system?” Friend, purity of life is achievable with the fear of God. When the heart is controlled by the fear of God, actions will reflect the fear of God too. Surely, the world cannot affect you negatively if you are already affected positively by the word of God. So, no matter what happens, determine to stay on the path of purity. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Allow the fear of God to dominate your heart and you will live in line with the will of God.
2. Dedicate your life to God and you will walk in purity and righteousness.
3. Never despise holy living, instead, strive to live a holy life.
4. No matter the circumstance, always stay on the path of purity.

TOPIC : FIND REST FOR YOUR SOUL

Wednesday, May 1, 2019

Bible Verse : Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. Psalms 31:5

LISTEN : We can’t find rest until we have found God. When we found God we have found rest for our troubled souls. In trouble times we should learn to tell God our fears and worries because He cares for us (1Peter 5:7). My dear, God is forever faithful and will not fail you. He is always there to help when trouble hits you. God is faithfully waiting for you to call to Him. Why not call to Him today and be delivered? When you are stretched and stressed out by troubles, spread yourself in God’s word. Breath the fresh air of His presence. Dig deep into His words and you will find rest for your soul. The words of God will point you to His faithfulness. Truly, when you understand the words of God, you will acknowledge and appreciate His faithfulness. Beloved, cheer up! God is forever faithful to those who put their trust in Him. So, commit yourself to God and put your trust in Him and you will not be put to shame. Remember, if you find God you have found rest for your soul. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, I trust in you. Therefore, give peace to my soul, amen!
