Verse Of The Day : Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. Psalms 105:19

LISTEN : A man said to his son, “Son, do not trust what you have not tested.” His son asked him, “Dad, why did you say so?” His father replied, “Because you will be deceived, and that may cost you a lot. So, test first, and then you can trust; even God does the same” Beloved, learn to test before giving your heart to anyone. People’s hearts are often broken because they fail to test what they intend to trust. It is the height of foolishness to trust what you have not yet tried. Wisdom demands that, you prove something before trusting it. As a matter of fact, test precedes trust. Trust does not happen automatically, it is a function of the passage of time. Time and test give reasons for trust. People are often deceived and destroyed because they neglect to test before they jump into trusting. Trust does not come by how much you can talk or profess loyalty; trust comes by being consistent with the truth. What you are in ‘the light, should be what you are in the dark.’ This means that, your character is not buried in deceit. Your consistent lifestyle is an evidence that you could be trusted.

Joseph had a dream of a great future. But the future will not come true until God has tested him to be faithful (Psalms 105:19). Thankfully, he passed the tests of betrayal from his brothers by forgiving them (Genesis 50:19-21); and the test of adultery with Potiphar’s promiscuous wife, by refusing to commit sin against God (Genesis 39:9); and the test of false accusations from the same woman, by not seeking private revenge, instead, chose to suffer in prison and wait for God’s intervention. At last, God intervened and lifted him above the expectations of the wicked because, he had shown that, he could be trusted. My dear, can you be trusted? Can you equally test before trusting? Henceforth, learn to test first, and then trust. Be wise!

EVENING

TOPIC : BE GODLY BECAUSE YOU BELONG TO GOD

Sunday, May 5, 2019

Bible Verse : Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil have not seen God. 3 John 1:11

LISTEN : We belong to God therefore, should live godly. We should live in the fear and knowledge of God. My dear, the only way to escape Satan’s traps is to hear and obey the word of God. When we obey and believe the word of God we will never again be condemned, but receives eternal life through Christ Jesus. Therefore, we should follow the will of God if we must escape the devil’s trap. Our Bible verse says, “Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil have not seen God.” (3 John 1:11). This means that, we should watch, examine and prove every idea, principle, opinion, trend, belief, etc., before accepting to act on, or adopt them as our own standards. We must not do anything just because everyone else is doing it, rather we should do it because we have proven it to be the perfect and acceptable will of God. (Ephesians 5:10). Beloved, remember to be godly because you belong to God. Be wise!

Prayer : Precious Father, I thank you for all you have done for me. Help me to reciprocate your goodness by living a godly life in Jesus’ name, amen!
