Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 32:8

LISTEN : When Sennacherib king of Assyria was up against king Hezekiah of Judah and his people. The soldiers of Judah and the people of Israel were afraid of him, because of his military strength. (2 Chronicles 32:1-7). But king Hezekiah encouraged them to be strong and put their faith in the living God, and not panic because of the military strength of king Sennacherib. He assured them that God will help them, and they were encouraged by the words of king Hezekiah. (v.8). My dear, what you need in times of trouble and fear is a word of encouragement. You need someone to renew your hope by building your confidence and faith. You need someone that will help you get rid of your fears. You need a ‘Hezekiah’ to tell you that, with God nothing is impossible. My dear, what you hear can leave you with peace of mind or restlessness. It can give you directions or get you more confused; gives you hope or leave you hopeless, keeps you strong or leaves you shattered and heartbroken; it can as well give you encouragement or discouragement. Therefore, you should be careful who you listen to. Don’t listen to anyone who cannot build your faith, or encourage you to rise above limitations. Listen to faith builders and encouragers. They will build your confidence, faith and courage. Faith makes us to see things the way God sees them. With faith we can see beyond our situations and trust God to work things out for us. Surely, when pressure builds up in our lives, and solution seems elusive, faith will keep us going and believing, knowing that God is in charge of all situations. My dear, stop panicking because of oppositions, instead, begin to rejoice because of your faith in God. Be wise!

EVENING

TOPIC : GOD WILL HELP YOU IF YOU TRUST HIM

Bible Verse : Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

LISTEN : Help is available for those who trust in God. He bears the burdens of those who cast their burdens to Him; and He fights the battles of those who put their trust in Him. My dear, what you cannot handle God can handle it for you if only you would trust Him. The Bible says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). This simply means that, because God created us and is concerned about us, we should let Him take care of all the things we are worried about. Beloved, do not be too proud or ashamed to bring your burdens to God. Pride can be a dangerous thing to do, because it holds you back from reaching out for God’s help, and admitting your inadequacy and need for God. God wants to help you because He loves you. But you must invite Him by surrendering your concerns to Him. Beloved, what are you worried about? Is it about your health? Your inability to secure a job? Childlessness? Disappointment? heartbreak? marital failure? Etc.? My dear, stop worrying about anything, and begin to trust God instead. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, you are the only true God. Therefore, I will put my trust in you always, amen!
