Verse Of The Day : For we have brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either. But if we have food and shelter, we will be satisfied with that. 1 Timothy 6:7-8
LISTEN : What is this rush and inordinate desire for material possessions today? Are we not forgetting something very important? Are we not shifting our focus more and more to things of this life at the expense of God? My dear, When the heart is consumed by materialism, self-gratification will dominate godly disposition. For it will be practical impossible to serve God when you know that, you love material possessions more than God. Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.“ (Mathew 6:24 NET). What is materialism? The dictionary defined materialism as a way of thinking that gives too much importance to material possessions rather than to spiritual or intellectual things. On the other hand, godliness is believing in God and in the importance of living a moral life. Materialism beclouds good sense of reasoning and makes people lose interest in godliness and spirituality. It makes people think or feel that they will go on with their wealth in this world forever. What a poor way to think! Beloved, to actualize the true purpose of life, we should give much importance to spiritual and intellectual things, and less importance to material things. It is good to have and enjoy material possessions, but not at the expense of God and your divine assignments. Don’t forget that, we brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either. Therefore, we should chase after God and not after wealth, and be content with what we have. True wealth and wisdom will come when we honour God (see Mathew 6:33). My dear, think about it and adjust your life. Remember, he who gives much importance to material possessions over spiritual things cannot be innocent. Be wise!

Saturday, May 18, 2019
Bible Verse : You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
LISTEN : “Be serious about it.” A man urged his little daughter who was searching for her school bag and running late to school. Not long she intensified effort that she found it. In the same way, you will prosper in your quest to know God when you seek Him with all your heart. Truly, you cannot discover God if your love for Him and His word ends in your lips. Your faith and love for Him must not stop in your lips, but dwell in your heart. Beloved, it is quite difficult to find God when you have not felt His absence in your life. Until you realise that you are vulnerable and nothing without Him, it will be impossible to seek Him with all your heart. My dear, absence of God in your life will expose you to destruction and satanic manipulations. Yes! He who abandons God in favour of other gods, God will abandon him too. But those who return to Him in repentance will find Him and receive His mercy. Therefore, be serious with your search for God today. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear Lord, I am in desperate need of you today. Therefore, help me to be serious with my faith and service to you, in Jesus name, amen!
