Verse Of The Day : Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him. James 1:12

LISTEN : We tend to worry when problems come. And the worry gradually graduates to a full blown depression if not handled with positive mindset and faith in God. The situation becomes worse when the object of worry refuses to change, and hope gradually fades away. At this point, desperation heightens. And because of this, the person involved behaves rashly or go extreme in trying to achieve his or her aims. Sadly, because of such desperation, regrettable decisions and actions are taken, and life becomes more miserable than it really was. My dear, be careful when hope seems to fade away. Be careful when situation pushes you real hard. If you don’t watch your thoughts when you are desperate, you might end up in the hands of the devil. Beloved, when you are in a precarious state, learn to look unto God and not to your situations. Listen to the voice of God and not to the imaginations of your heart; follow divine directions and don’t be self-willed. My dear, you cannot miss your way when you follow divine directions (Romans 4:18-21). So, when you are in trouble and the situation seems hopeless, stay calm and hopeful no matter what. You may ask, “How can I stay calm and hopeful when my situation is hopeless?” My dear, it is possible! Just do the following things: 1). Hope against hope (don’t give up even when there is no reason again to keep hoping); 2). Believe God (believe what God says not what your situation is suggesting to you); 3). Trust God with your fears (tell God about your worries and don’t allow your fears to stop you); 4). Remember that God cares (don’t feel or think that God doesn’t care about what you are going through, rather know that He cares). Beloved, be careful when there seems to be no hope. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. When going through a difficult situation, just remember that God cares.
2. When your situation seems hopeless, remember that God is with you and willing to help you.
3. No matter the situation don’t give up, instead, hope against hope.
4. No matter how hopeless your case might be, always avoid desperation and depression.

Prayer : Dear Lord, you are my peace and hiding place in times of troubles. Therefore, help me to continue to hope in you always, amen!

Quote : “Watch your thoughts when situation pushes you real hard; for he who refuses to watch his thoughts when in desperate situations, might end up in the hands of the devil.”

Faith Confession : Today, I acknowledged that, desperate moments require carefulness. Therefore, I will be careful when my situation seems hopeless or critical, amen!

TOPIC : RIGHTEOUSNESS GIVES BIRTH TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Monday, May 20, 2019

Bible Verse : Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. John 3:7

LISTEN : Righteousness gives birth to righteousness. Our God is righteous and loves righteousness and the righteous (Psalms 11:7). He is a God of justice and loves those who are just and fair to others. There is no unrighteousness in Him. And He is pleased when we behave in an honest way and maintain high moral standard no matter what. God is honoured when we live to the glory of His name. As children of God we should learn to live a holy life. The LORD our God is righteous in Himself, and in all His ways and works. His righteousness is demonstrated both in visiting and punishing the wicked, and in maintaining the righteous cause of His people. Beloved, righteousness is agreeable to the nature of God: He loves to exercise righteousness in the earth, to administer it to, and among men; this He delights to do. God has given us His righteousness through Christ Jesus. We became righteous through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross (Romans 5:17). Because God is righteous, therefore, let us learn to live in line with His will and be blessed. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting God, you are righteous and loves righteousness. Therefore, help me to be faithful and holy to you, in Jesus’ name, amen!
