Verse Of The Day : Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

LISTEN : Is prayer really necessary to the believer’s success? Should we pray or neglect to pray? Does it really matter if we don’t pray? Can’t we grow in faith without prayer? My dear, prayer is necessary to us who believe in Christ Jesus. You can’t do without it. What then is prayer? Prayer simply means, a practice of communicating with one’s God; a petition; a request. When we pray we are communicating and interacting with God. Prayer can happen spontaneously, or in organized and unorganised form. It could be done by an individual believer or a company of believers. However it is done, the important thing is that, prayer is necessary for a successful walk with God. What is the believer’s relationship to prayer? 1). Prayer is a vital part of the Christian faith: Jesus said to his disciples, Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matt 26:41). My dear, it’s not to the advantage of the believer to neglect to pray.

Prayer is as important as oxygen is to life. Therefore, the believer will suffocate in battles of life without prayer. 2). Prayer connects the believer to God: you may not reach God with your legs though, but you can reach Him with your knees. You may not feel or trace Him, but prayer brings results that demonstrate to you that God is always there. When you pray genuinely, you’ll surely connect heaven (Acts 4:31). 3). Prayer brings God into the believer’s situation: you can’t be abandoned by God if you can’t abandon to pray. No matter the delay in answering your prayers, God will certainly step in with intervention. Therefore, we should desire to watch and pray; refuse to give up on prayer; fast and pray and watch our tendency to drift away from praying always. Beloved, pray and keep praying. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Don’t allow heaviness of heart to stop you from praying always.
2. Desire to pray and walk with the Spirit of God.
3. Watch and pray so that you don’t enter into temptation.
4. No matter the circumstance, don’t give up on prayer.

Reflection : It’s not to the advantage of the believer to neglect to pray.

Quote : You can’t be abandoned by God if you can’t abandon to pray. But the unwise will suffocate in battles of life for prayerlessness.

Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name, I confess that, prayer of faith changes situations. Therefore, I will pray and not faint, amen!

Biblical Fact : Did you know Balaam was spoken to by a donkey? (Numbers 22:22-35).

TOPIC: GOD IS A SOLID ROCK

Bible Verse : Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalms 20:7

LISTEN : God is all and all for those who trust in Him. He’s a solid rock and a place of safety. His name is powerful and troubles the kingdom of darkness. He is our foundation, strength and stability. My dear, your foundation will determine your stability; and who you follow will determine what follows you. Your victory in battles of life is a function of your source of strength. When your source of strength is weak, your chances of victory is slim. In the same way, when your source of strength is strong and reliable, victory is guaranteed. God is a strong tower. He is a shield and refuge. He is a present help in times of troubles (Psalms 115:11). Those who love and fear Him runs to Him in distress and are saved. He delivers His people from those who seek to destroy them. Beloved, is God your source of strength? Is He your help in times of troubles? Who do you rely on for deliverance and victory in times of troubles? In our Bible verse David said, ” Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” (Psalms 20:7). My dear, the name of God saves. Therefore, don’t put your trust in anything other than God, for they will fail you; instead, put your trust in the living God. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, I thank you because you are faithful. Therefore, help me to trust in you always, amen!
