Verse Of The Day : Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
LISTEN : God is light, and those who acknowledged His son Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour must shine the same light around the world. Jesus said to his disciples, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). My dear, you can’t give what you don’t have. You must have light to be able to give light. To give light to this dark world you must have the light of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having received the gospel of light, we should strive to illumine this world that has been darkened by sin and wickedness. Beloved, do you know that you are, and should be the light of the world? Jesus Christ said, “You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15). Wickedness is growing rapidly today because lots of people (Christians) have refused to shine their light. Their lives have been overwhelmed by darkness (sin, lusts, worldliness, wickedness, inordinate desires, etc.), and the light in them have become useless. My dear, don’t hide your light. Let the world know that you belong to God. Let your good works be seen by all and glorify God our Father. Let the mind and way of life of Jesus Christ be seen in you and felt through you. You’re the light of the world. Therefore, as a true child of God, you’re designed to give directions to those who have lost their way to God. You are to persuade and inspire others to embrace godliness. Besides, you are expected to be kind, merciful generous, loving, forgiving, forbearing, and the like; that others may see your good works and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. Remember, if your life can’t glory God you have no right to claim intimacy with Him. Be wise!

TOPIC : LET US HUNGER FOR GOD
Friday, September 6, 2019
Bible Verse : Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
LISTEN : A hunger for God is a holy hunger. Every reasonable person should strive to know God. For we are empty until we are filled with the knowledge of God. When we hunger for God and pursue after His will, He will fill our empty souls and bless our lives. Hunger is a major indicator of the need of our body. Hunger indicates that the body needs food, and we quench this uncomfortable feeling in the stomach by supplying the needed food. Amazingly, the moment we have eaten our fill, the hunger suddenly disappears and our energy is subsequently restored. As a matter of fact, nothing will make sense to us when hunger is biting hard. Sadly, our flesh is regularly yearning just for physical food, while our spirit dies daily for lack of spiritual food – the word of God. Our body constantly craves for sin and lust after evil, yet, we’re not prepared to change ‘our taste’ to line up with the will of God. Beloved, to please God you must change ‘your taste’ from living to please your flesh, to living to please God (Colossians 3:1-2). You should seek after righteousness, holiness, godliness and the will of God. In a world where people are comfortable with sin, you should stand with God no matter what. God blesses those who hunger for Him. Our Bible verse says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6). This means that how much we desire to please God will determine how much He can satisfy our empty souls. So, increase your hunger for God and God will satisfy the need of your soul. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear Lord, you are my God. Therefore, make me to hunger for you always, in Jesus’ name, amen.
