Author : Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : Elisha said to her, “What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a small jar of olive oil.” He said, “Go and ask all your neighbors for empty containers. Get as many as you can. 2 Kings 4:2-3 (NET).
LISTEN : To attract favour you should be prepared for it. You may ask, “Why should I prepare for favour when I’m supposed to receive it for doing nothing?” My dear, you got it all wrong! God doesn’t favour laziness, He favours diligent hard work. Yes, He honours sacrifice. The truth is, the wise don’t laze around and wait for God’s favour. They don’t wait and expect God to do in miracle what He has given man to do in principle. Beloved, God won’t waste His resources. He knows those who are diligently and purposefully positioned for it. Sometimes, the favour you need from God is to do something and wait for His blessings to locate your labour. My dear, God will bless nothing if you do nothing. He wants you to get down to business and do something with your life no matter how small. Nothing is too small for God to bless. The widow in today’s Bible text was extremely poor and greatly indebted financially, and about to lose her sons to creditors as slaves. When she cried to God’s anointed servant, Elisha, he asked her, “What do you have in your house?” She replied, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a small jar of olive oil.” (2 Kings 4:2). And Elisha commanded her to use the little oil to attract the favour of God (2 Kings 4:3-7). She obeyed God’s servant and used her little oil to receive her miracle. In the same way, if we must receive favours we should be prepared for it. Beloved, begin to position yourself for favour to attract favour. Remember, some favours won’t come to you unless you have the capacity to receive them. Be wise!

TOPIC: WISDOM BRINGS HONOUR AND PRAISE
Bible Verse : A person is praised in accordance with his wisdom, but the one who has a twisted mind is despised. Proverbs 12:8
LISTEN : Wisdom brings honour and praise. Yes, true wisdom is key to honour, favour and life. Wisdom is wonderful, and it’s the beauty of life. What is wisdom? Wisdom is simply a good sense or judgment : right application of knowledge. Wisdom is very key to life. Life without wisdom is empty of purpose and directions; and life without purpose lacks meaning. Wisdom brings honour, and lack of it brings disgrace. One’s level of wisdom will determine how far one will go in life. It will determine the kind of people that will be willing to associate with you. Wisdom brings success, and everyone wants to identify with success. No one wants to be part of failure. Yet, a lot of people are not doing enough to get wisdom. The Bible says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7). True wisdom comes from God, hence, to get it you must have God. Wisdom is wrapped in the word of God, therefore, to walk in God’s wisdom you must deep yourself in God’s word. The deeper you go into the words of God the wiser you become. (Psalms 119:100). So, pursue wisdom and honour will pursue you ; despise it and you will be despised. Be wise!
Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to walk in wisdom all the days of my life, amen.
