Verse Of The Day : When Joseph came to see them in the morning, he noticed how downcast they looked! They were both very sad. So he asked Pharaoh’s officers, who were with him in prison in his master’s house, “Why are you so sad today?” Genesis 40:6-7 (ISV)
LISTEN : Joseph was in prison and in pain , yet, assisted his cellmates deal with their own pain and troubles. Sometimes ago I told a story about a woman who just lost her husband the previous week, and went to condole with another woman who also lost her husband. The sympathizers who were present expressed shock over her unlikely visit. One of them said to her, “Woman, your life is such an inspiration to me. No one could ever believe you will be strong enough to visit anyone in this your mourning period.” The woman replied, “I know that God is in control, therefore, I can’t be too sad to help others. This woman needs my encouragement. And I am here to offer that to her.” My dear, this is how we should live. More often than not when people are sad, they tend to ignore the pain of others and concentrate on themselves alone. Our own pains often close our eyes to the pains and trials of others (see Galatians 6:2; Romans 15:1). We find it difficult to see opportunities to help others who are struggling with depression because we are depressed too, and therefore feel that we need the help more than others. My dear, don’t be too sad to help others who are in pain like you. When you help those who are in pain, to an extent you ease your own pain. It takes faith, courage and determination to put a smile on someone else’s face when you are going through same thing. My dear, if you have faith in God, no circumstance is strong enough to break you beyond remedy. And no condition can keep you sad when the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of joy is in you. So, never be too depressed to help others deal with their own pain. When you encourage someone who knows you’re also facing a similar or more difficult problem, you give them reason to live again. So, in your troubles, never fail to help those who are troubled. Be wise!

Bible Verse : So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12
LISTEN : My dear, do you think about the brevity of life? Life is short and should be taking serious. ‘Pleasures’ of this world has made a lot of people so insensitive to the pitiable state of humanity. No one thinks about the brevity of life. Instead, they act as though life will go on forever. My dear, anytime you check your wrist watch or the clock, what goes on in your mind? No doubt, you do that to regulate or schedule your time. You don’t want to be late to your appointments or do anything behind the right time. In the same way, we should be conscious of the time of our lives. (Ephesians 5:16). Let’s not be carried away by the ‘good things’ of life, but strive to direct our efforts and work to secure a future (eternity) for ourselves. Beloved, time is ticking away and people seem not to be concerned about it. Life demands wisdom, and life without wisdom is worthless. One aspect of wisdom in life is to consider time. Life is time, and time is the regulator of life. Hence, to disregard time is to disregard life. Truly, the beauty of life is to make the most of your time, talents and treasures. David said, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”(Psalms 90:12). Beloved, life flies with time. So, watch your time and do the needful. Remember, a little delay, a little carelessness and a little waste of time, life will be wasted eventually. Remember, now is the right time to adjust your life. Be wise!
Prayer : Gracious Father, I thank you for your word. Help me to never take today for granted; but rather act wisely before it’s too late, amen!
