Verse Of The Day : Israel is not a slave, is he? He was not born into slavery, was he? If not, why then is he being carried off? Like lions his enemies roar victoriously over him; they raise their voices in triumph. They have laid his land waste; his cities have been burned down and deserted. Jeremiah 2:14-15

LISTEN : Watch your actions before they ruin your life. Be sure you don’t do things that will undermine the word of God. Stay away from evil. Those who commit sin brings evil upon themselves (Isaiah 57:21; Romans 6:23). Besides, we puncture our confidence and silence our voices when we live in sin. Sin triggers satanic invasion. Yes, you’ll bring a curse on yourself when you reject and abandon the Almighty God in favour of other gods. For every evil people do there is an affect. You’ll attract blessings or curses depending on how you relate to God. What you do with God will determine whether you’ll sell yourself to your enemies or be safe in the hands of God. God made a promise to Abraham that His descendants will inherit a good land flowing with milk and honey. But Abraham’s children chose to disobey God by committing sin and trusting in foreign countries for help in battle. As a result, God was angry with them and therefore allowed them to be carried away by their enemies into captivity. In our verse of the day, God spoke through Prophet Jeremiah and expressed pain over the condition of the children of Israel who should be living like kings and Queens; but because of their disobedience they have been made slaves. This is equally how some people are today. They have lost their glory because of disobedience to God and love for wickedness. My dear, are you one of those people? Kindly return to God and receive your glory back today. Remember, God is prepared to accept the repentant and decorate him or her with glory. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never abandon God Almighty for any other gods.
2. Avoid sin at all cost so that you won’t open up yourself to Satan’s attack
3. No matter the circumstance, don’t continue to disobey God.

EVENING

TOPIC : SPEAK TO HEAL NOT TO KILL

Bible Verse : Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.- Proverbs 16:24

LISTEN : Words are powerful. They can kill and equally give life. The way we use them is important. Therefore, our words should be pleasant words. Pleasant words are healing words. They are life-giving and life-saving words. They can only come from the mouth of the wise and godly. Pleasant words are treasured in the hearts of those who understand the importance of human lives and the fear of God. Our Bible verse says, “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”(Pro16:24). What does that mean? It means that the words of the wise yield both profit and delight; the wholesome counsels and refreshing comfort of the wise brings healing and life to battered and shattered life. My dear, learn to heal others with your words and don’t add to their miseries. Henceforth, determine to speak words of comfort, courage, edification, motivation, etc., to others and the LORD will bless you. Remember to speak to heal, and not to kill. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to heal others with my words henceforth, in Jesus’ name, amen!
