Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12

LISTEN : God lives, therefore his word lives forever. The word of God is mighty because God is the Almighty. His word quakes the foundation of the world because the world was formed by the same word (Genesis 1:1-31). God is the authority behind His word. He expresses His will through His words. His words do not fail because He guides it with His own name. His word carries life and power. With His word He carries out His purposes. God’s word searches our hearts and powerfully penetrates our minds more than a two-edged sword can penetrate the human body. My dear, there is no part of us that is hidden “in the eyes” of the word of God. His words penetrate into our souls and spirits, as a sharp sword can penetrate into human joints and marrow. God’s word is living and active. It performs the very purpose of God. by it God discerns all our thoughts and desires. His word exposes to us all our thoughts and desires. With His word He judges the wicked, saves the perishing, justifies the repentant, vindicates the oppressed, breaks chain of afflictions, heals sicknesses and diseases; sets the captive free, transforms sinners, etc. However, we cannot experience the benefits of His words until we have fully surrendered to Him. My dear, God’s word is for your good. So, study and obey it, and you will experience the blessings of God. You cannot discover the life in the word of God until you have discovered God who is behind his word. Be wise!

EVENING

TOPIC : HOLY HUNGER

Thursday, December 26, 2019

Bible Verse : Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6

LISTEN : A hunger after righteousness is a holy hunger. Friend, do you hunger and thirst after righteousness? Do you have intense desire to please God. To please God you must change ‘your taste’ from living to please your flesh, to living to please God (Colossians 3:1-2). You should seek after righteousness, holiness, godliness and the will of God. In a world where people are comfortable with sin, you should stand with God no matter what. God blesses those who hunger for Him. Our Bible verse says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6). This means that how much we desire to please God will determine how much He can satisfy our empty souls. Therefore, let us reject the unfruitful works of darkness and follow after righteousness to experience God’s power in our lives. Be wise!

Prayer : Blessed Father, help me to hunger and thirst after righteousness as long as I live, in Jesus’ name, amen.
