Verse Of The Day : Hatred stirs up strife: but love covers multitude of sin. Proverbs 10:12

LISTEN : People quarrel and fight for lack of love. Hate kills but love heals. Hate produces unforgiveness, but love gives unconditional forgiveness. Where hate rules, people find it pleasant to fight, but difficult to forgive one another. My dear, forgive because you’ll need forgiveness at some point in your life. A story is told about a certain unforgiving fellow who was asked why he doesn’t forgive at all. He replied, “I don’t believe in forgiveness.” Few days later he offended a man and the matter was reported to the police, who in turn arrested and arraigned him before the court. When he realised the gravity of the charges against him, and the likely jail terms, he pleaded with the man for out of court settlement. But the man replied, “I’m aware that you are unforgiving. Why should I forgive you when you don’t believe in forgiveness? Like you, I don’t believe in forgiveness too.” Sadly, the man was found guilty as charged and sentenced to many years imprisonment. In the same way, if you find it impossible to forgive others, God will find it impossible to forgive you (Matthew 6:14,15). Besides, others will find it difficult to forgive you if they know that, you are such a terrible unforgiving fellow. My dear, let us love one another and stop promoting hatred, bitterness, malice, etc; such would promote unforgiveness, violence, strife, terrorism, killing, oppression and the like. If we can let go of offenses we all can have a better future together. My dear, forgive and you’ll receive forgiveness in return. Remember, hate kills, but love heals. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Forgive others if you must be forgiven by God.
2. Determine to grow in love for others and shun bitterness and hatred.
3. Learn to let go of offenses and stop holding on to the past.
4. Refuse to constantly hold grudges against others.

Prayer : Dear Lord, I thank you because you forgave us through Jesus Christ. Therefore, help me to forgive others, amen!

Reflection : If it is too difficult to forgive, it will be too difficult to receive forgiveness.

Quote: “A heart where love reigns bitterness never survives. Bitterness thrives where love is murdered.”

Faith Confession : In Jesus’ name, I acknowledge that hate kills but love heals. Therefore, I will love always, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know Prophet Samuel judged Israel all his life? (1 Samuel 7:15).

Today In History : February 4, 1555 English reformer and theologian John Rogers becomes the first Protestant martyr under “Bloody” Mary I when he is burned at the stake for heresy.

Stunning Fact : Did you know New Zealands first hospital was opened in 1843?

A Word Of Blessing : It is well with you. May grace to live in love with others be released to you from heaven, in Jesus’ name, amen.

TOPIC : PRAY TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD

Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Bible Verse : Teach me your way, O LORD; I will walk in your truth: unite my heart to fear your name. Psalms 86:11

LISTEN : We are ignorant of the future. Only God sees the future and knows it before it ever began. Therefore, to walk into the future you must learn the ways of God and live in His truth. My dear, learn the ways of God and be wise. God’s way is the pathway to life. There is no life in anyone who chooses to abandon the ways of God. God’s way gives direction and meaning to the life of those who are programed to perish. His way gives light to the blind and life to the dead. The way of God sets the captive free and brings fulfillment to their God-given purpose. The way of God rejoices the heart and brightens up the face. Besides, the way of God saves, teaches and guides people to know God. No one knows the ways of God until he or she is willing to learn His ways. God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8,9), hence, those who want to follow His ways must first learn His way through obedience and humility. The ways of God are the “highways” of righteousness, holiness, godliness, obedience, faith, truth, dedication, peace, love, etc. Beloved, to know God you must hunger for Him. You must desire to please Him. God will never force anyone to learn or follow His ways, but will allow them to make their own decisions. So, you should make the decision to learn and follow His ways today. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, teach me your ways and help me to learn and live, amen.
