Verse Of The Day : A son honours his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of hosts… Malachi 1:6

LISTEN : Since the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the news has been in everyone’s mouth. It is currently making the headlines of every news paper home and abroad. Both children and the elderly talk about it daily. The fear of it has melted the heart of many. The high and mighty have been humbled alike and kept in isolation the moment they are diagnosed with the virus. Besides, in attempt to contain the virus, people have been temporarily denied their right to freedom of movement and worship. The consciousness of coronavirus has created fear in people’s heart because no one wants to die. For fear of this virus, countries borders are closed to entrants ; businesses have shutdown, global sports and recreational activities are suspended ; lots of people now work from home; and adopted other precautionary measures to stay safe. “The fear of COVID-19 instead of the fear of God now seems to be the beginning of wisdom.” The world is currently filled with the fear of coronavirus. But where is the fear of God in this? No one is considering it. This calls for sober reflection. Yes, we (the world) need to go back to God – the Creator of the universe. Brethren, until we follow the path of righteousness the world will always live at the mercy of evil, for no one can be established in unrighteousness (Isaiah 54:14; Pro. 14:37). God is asking the same question He asked the priests of Israel to us today – “A son honours his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of hosts…” (Malachi 1:6). Because humanity has chosen to abandon God in favour of Satan, therefore, it won’t be difficult for God to close His eyes and ears to the misery of the world too. The Bible says, The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17). So, let’s retrace our steps. Let the fear of God be our fear, not the fear of coronavirus. Be wise!

TOPIC : BE ESTABLISHED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

Sunday, March 29, 2020

Bible Verse : Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6

LISTEN : To be clothed with righteousness is to be clothed with life. Yes, “our soul is meant to grow and thrive on the soil of righteousness.” Just as no plant can possibly survive without water, so also we can’t be established without righteousness (Isaiah 54:14). My dear, do you hunger and thirst after righteousness? Do you have intense desire to please God. To please God you must change ‘your taste’ from living to please your flesh, to living to please God (Colossians 3:1-2). You should seek after righteousness, holiness, godliness and the will of God. In a world where people are comfortable with sin, you should stand with God no matter what. God blesses those who hunger for Him. Our Bible verse says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6). This means that how much we desire to please God will determine how much He can satisfy our empty souls. Therefore, let us reject the unfruitful works of darkness and follow after righteousness to experience God’s power in our lives. Remember, the path of righteousness is the path of life. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to hunger and thirst after righteousness as long as I live, in Jesus’ name, amen.
