THE SUPREME POWER OF THE RESURRECTED CHRIST (EASTER)

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Matthew 27:52-53

LISTEN : Jesus Christ died not to save Himself or the angels in heaven, but to save humanity. Besides, He resurrected not to bless God, but to give hope and eternal life to those who believe in His name. Isn’t that interesting! Christ is risen because He conquered death, and if we believe in Him we shall eventually conquer death too. My dear, by Christ’s resurrection, He demonstrated His supremacy to everyone and everything. Yes, resurrection is the proof of the power of Jesus Christ over the power of death and the grave (1 Conrinthians 15:55-57). By His death, He destroyed the power of Satan. The power of God is supreme to the power of the grave. His Spirit quickens dead bones and bodies and bring them back to life. Nothing can ever hold back anyone whom God has set free. Surely, the grave can’t continue to hold back anyone that heaven has pronounced ‘alive.’ Beloved, we are alive with Christ Jesus. His resurrection is the reason for our own expected resurrection. Because Christ is risen, we are risen together with Him in righteousness. Therefore, the power of sin and death can’t stop our escape from destruction. Surely, the grave will open when the power of resurrection is at work in us. Every satanic foundation will shake and crumble when heaven responds to the questions of the earth. When Jesus Christ finally died on the cross, remarkable things happened. The veil of the temple was rent in two from top to bottom; the earth quakes, and the rocks rent. The graves of the saints were opened, and they resurrected after the resurrection of Christ and showed themselves to many in the city of Jerusalem. My dear, Christ is risen and ever alive because nothing is impossible to God. And we have same hope of resurrection if we walk with Him from start to finish. Be wise!

EVENING

TOPIC : ABIDE IN THE WORD OF GOD

Sunday, April 12, 2020

Bible Verse : So Jesus told those Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are really my disciples. John 8:31

LISTEN : Total commitment and loyalty is the standard for a relationship with God. You can’t be real to God until you are determined to continue in His word. Anyone can claim to follow Jesus Christ, but not all are truly serving His purpose. Anyone can hear His words, but not everyone is loyal and faithful to Him. Only a true disciple of Christ can continue in the word of God. True disciples of Jesus Christ are known for their consistency in following Him and obeying His words. When God’s word is rejected or taken lightly, our claim to a relationship with Him is in doubt. No one is a true disciple of Christ who does not continue in His word. You must be fully committed to Him. Total commitment is the standard for a relationship with God. It is either you are with Him, or with the devil; or for Him, or for the devil. What makes the difference between a committed and uncommitted follower of Jesus Christ is what he or she does with the words of God. So, determine to abide in the word of God. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, help me to continue in your word always. In Jesus ‘ name.
