Verse Of The Day: My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word. Psalms 119:148

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY : The wise forsakes all just to gain God; but the foolish forsakes God to gain all.

LISTEN: God’s word is for us all. It is His word that finds right paths for us. Yes, His word is a lamp to our feet. Hence, when we abandon His word we will walk into darkness. Therefore, to benefit from His word we must spend time in it. Beloved, time is precious and should be spent wisely. What you spend your time on should both affect your life now and in eternity. Meditate in God’s word to discover His will. God’s will is the purpose of our existence. Hence, a God fearing person would not rest until he or she has discovered and begins to do what pleases God (Job 23:12). My dear, it is hard to do the will of God if you cannot spend time in His words. God’s word reveals His will. Therefore, until you understand His word you cannot follow His will. David deliberately denied himself some sleep just to meditate on the word of God. That expresses how much he loves to do the will of God. His purpose of staying awake all night was not to attend to his domestic needs, worry over life’s circumstances, plot the downfall of his enemies, worry over wealth and prosperity of others, etc., but to meditate in the word of God. No wonder God called him “a man after my own heart” (Acts 13 22). He spent quality time in God’s word trying to find His will; He spent time in quiet thought for religious purposes; He engaged his mind for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness. My dear, like David, are you spending time in the word of God to discover His will? Are you more concerned about affairs of this life than following the will of God? Please think! Use your time wisely, Remember, God’s word is worth your time. If you cannot spend your time learning to know God you are just living in vain. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalms 119:105

LISTEN : God’s word guides the wise. It leads him to where God wants him to go, and shows him what He wants him to do. The word of God is the carrier of His voice, and His voice expresses His will. Those who hear and obey the words of God can never miss their way. God’s word is the light that shines in our paths. It’s the light with which we can see the right path in this wicked world. Without the light of His words we are limited. Truly, speed is limited when sight is impaired. Without sight, one will stumble and grope for directions. (Mathew 6:23). Beloved, what good sight is to you, God’s word is to your life. God’s word guides people through the right path. It is the key to a righteous and holy living. Those who keep step with the word of God cannot stray from God’s purpose. They are protected from dangers and traps of the devil. Their thoughts are weighed and refined by the word of God; as a result, their actions are in line with His will. They are not limited by forces of darkness because they receive light (insight, direction, revelation, knowledge understanding and wisdom) from the word of God. (Psalms 119:99,100). With God’s word in your heart, you are sure to follow His eternal purpose for your life. Beloved, follow the voice of God. God’s voice is hidden in His words. When you follow His voice you will discover His will and experience real life. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, guide me to follow your will always, in Jesus’ name, amen.
