Verse Of The Day: They strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, “We must enter the kingdom of God through many persecutions.” Acts 14 : 22

LISTEN: Humans have the tendency to breakdown under sustained pressure. That is, we all at one point or the other do experience physical, mental or nervous collapse due to circumstances that often breaks our hearts. The challenges of life is not limited to one person or a group of people, but happens to all. Being a child of God does not exclude you from the challenges and circumstances of this life, but equips you to face them courageously and with understanding. As Christians, we face persecutions in addition to the usual challenges of life. We are often persecuted, that is, treated cruelly or unfairly especially because of our faith in Jesus Christ. We are hated because we chose to follow him. Friend hating friend, relatives hating one another, parents hating their children and children hating their parents, husband hating wife and wife hating husband all because of the faith of the other in Christ.

However, when you are faced with such situations, all you need is encouragement from the LORD. When you are persecuted or faces trials, what you need is encouragement from other believers who are travelling to your destination. They will understand what you are going through because they are equally going through the same thing. Apostle Paul and his missionary team traveled round villages and cities to strengthen and encourage believers in Christ who were faced with trials and tribulations. The bible says, ” They strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, “We must enter the kingdom of God through many persecutions.”” (Acts 14 : 22). They reminded the believers that trials and persecutions should not destroy our faith in Christ but help it to grow. (1 Thess 3 : 2 – 4). God is saying the same thing to you today. Do not be discouraged or quit your faith. (Acts 11 : 23). When your spirit is down, look unto God. All you need is encouragement from him. He knows how to deliver you, because you are not in this alone. God is with us. Your God (our God) is greater than what you are facing today. God bless you.
