Verse Of The Day: And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, care you not that we perish? Mark 4 : 38

LISTEN: When faced with difficult and precarious situations, people often asked these questions, “Does God really care about what I go through?” “Is He bothered about my predicament and challenges?” “Does He feel my pain, sorrow and afflictions?” “Does He care if I perish?” The question goes on and on. Beloved, God knows about your troubles and cares about your wellbeing. His silence does not mean He has neglected or abandoned you. His delay does not mean denial. He has everything planned out in His calendar. Your fear in time of trouble is just a demonstration of the human nature. However, the human nature should not take the best of you. Truly, the moment you tame it (human nature) your faith will grow exceedingly in Christ Jesus. When we walk with Jesus Christ, we are not permitted to live in fear. Fear makes us blind to the presence of God even when He is closer to us. It causes us to think as though God does not care about our pain and troubles.

This is exactly the way Jesus Christ’s disciples thought when they were attacked by a heavy storm in the sea. The Bible says, ” And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, care you not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are all of you so fearful? how is it that all of you have no faith?” (Mark 4 : 37 – 40). They (disciples) were on the same boat with Jesus when the storm arose. But their lack of faith could not allowed them to know that Jesus Christ was in their midst, as a result, they cannot perish. Their statement, ” Master, do you not care that we perish?” ; simply means that they believed Jesus Christ was not bothered about their trouble. But this is not true! Most of us think this way too when faced with troubles. Beloved, keep calm, Jesus truly cares. He will deliver you; rebuke your storm and calm your troubled heart.
