Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23.

LISTEN : God created us and loves to be with us despite our sin. He came to us in form of His son Jesus Christ to reconcile us to Himself. Jesus Christ was born in confirmation of various prophesies about his birth. Just as it was prophesied, virgin Mary gave birth to him the Son of God at the appointed time. The birth of Jesus Christ brings God closer to humanity. His birth makes God’s presence available to those who choose to draw closer to Him. God created us and wants us to enjoy the benefits of His presence. This is made possible by the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. With Jesus Christ, God is now with us. That is the meaning of His name, “Emmanuel.” We are no longer enemies to God, instead, we have been reconciled to Him. My dear, God is with us. God with us means that nothing can prevail against us (Romans 8:31). The strongholds of sin and Satan are broken by Jesus’s birth, death and resurrection. God with us means that God is our support and He desires to have a relationship with us. He wants to dwell in us always. Through Jesus Christ He has forgiven all our sins and reconciled us to Himself. He has given us the opportunity to return to Him with all our hearts (2 Corinthians 5:19;Isaiah 53:6). What a privilege! Jesus Christ is the reason for this season. His immaculate conception and birth was divine and timely. He was born to save us from destruction, and to give us eternal life. My dear, Jesus Christ is all you need to come to God. So, receive Him today and spread the message of His love to the world. Remember, He is Emmanuel, God with us. With God, there is a future for you. As you celebrate this season, think of your relationship with God and make it right. Be wise!

TOPIC : TRUST GOD TO HELP YOU

Bible Verse : Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

LISTEN : Help is available for those who trust in God. God bears the burdens of those who cast their burdens on Him; and He fights the battles of those who put their trust in Him. My dear, what you cannot handle God can handle it for you if only you would trust Him. The Bible says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). This simply means that, because God created us and is concerned about us, we should let Him take care of all the things we are worried about. Beloved, do not be too proud or ashamed to bring your burdens to God. Pride can be a dangerous thing to do, because it holds you back from reaching out for God’s help, and admitting your inadequacy and need for God. God wants to help you because He loves you. But you must invite Him by surrendering your concerns to Him. Beloved, what are you worried about? Is it about your health? Your inability to secure a job? Is it childlessness? Disappointment? heartbreak? Marital failure? Etc.? My dear, stop worrying about anything, and begin to trust God in everything instead. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, you are the only true God. Therefore, I will put my trust in you always, amen!
