Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which he promised to those who love Him. James 1:12

THOUGHT OF THE DAY : Temptation is meant to be overcome and not to be overcome by it.

LISTEN : You can overcome temptations! I have heard people who experienced temptations prayed never to experience it again. My dear, your prayers should not be not to experience temptation, but not to be overcome by it. Temptations will always come, but be prepared to overcome it. What is temptation? In the Bible, the word temptation primarily denotes a trial in which man has a free choice of being faithful or unfaithful to God; only secondarily does it signify enticement or seduction to sin. As believers, it is good for us to be tried, because trial brings blessings. My dear, do not resent temptation. It is important that you are tempted because, temptation gives you the opportunity to grow. Besides, when you overcome temptation you attract the crown of life on your head. That is, God will bless you when you endure and overcome temptations. Not only will you be blessed in this life, but also in eternity. Our Bible verse says, “Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for …he will receive the crown of life…” (James 1:12). My dear, temptation is an opportunity for you to be divinely promoted; but it all depends on what you do when you are tempted. My dear, never fall to the tricks of Satan when you face temptation; rather, determine to resist him and stay committed to God. When temptation comes, it leaves you with two options: to be faithful to God, or be unfaithful to Him. With the pressure, suffering and pains that come with temptation, it is easier to fall than to stand; and easier to disobey God than to obey Him. Beloved, when you are tempted, it is not a time to quit your faith in Christ Jesus, but a time to demonstrate your unalloyed loyalty to God. Be wise!

TOPIC : FIGHT THE DEVIL WITH YOUR FAITH

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Bible Verse : You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

LISTEN : Are you afraid? Stop it! Do not panic because you belong to God. Our God is mighty, therefore, be strong and courageous and fight the devil. God’s power is above all powers put together. So, there is no reason to fear or doubt when God is on your side. Never allow fear to destroy your faith. Yes, fear cannot cripple you if your heart is filled with faith. No matter the battles you are to fight in life, victory is guaranteed if you have faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” (1John 5:4). My dear, walk by faith. Do not allow anything or anyone to drown your faith. When your faith fails, your courage will collapse; and when your courage collapses, fear will certainly paralyse your life. Therefore, you must grow your faith. Do not be afraid of what the future holds for you, instead, trust God for He is greater than whatever you might be going through. God holds the key to the future. Therefore, let Him into your life and the enemy can never frustrate your future. My dear, walk with God, if God is with you, your victory is sure. So, rise and fight the devil with your faith. Be wise!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, I hide myself in you today and forever, amen.
