Verse Of The Day: There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4 : 18
LISTEN: God is love, and where perfect love exists God is present. The Bible says, “Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful. It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1Corinthians 13 : 4 – 7). This kind of love drives away fear. This is exactly the way God loves us. Even with our ‘sin – stained’ body and contaminated soul, He loves us all the same. The Bible says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5 : 8). He loves us so much that He could bear our transgressions, endure our disobedience, believe we could be redeemed and transferred from the kingdom of darkness into His Kingdom of light. What a perfect love! God expects us to reciprocate His love. If we love Him, we will not be afraid of Him because He is a loving Father. Those who love God perfectly cannot possibly be afraid of Him. Why people are afraid of God is because they thought He would show no mercy. So if you are afraid of God, certainly you are not loving Him perfectly. God wants us to revere Him but not to be afraid of Him like an enemy. Friend, Have you sinned, and now in doubt of God’s forgiveness? Do not be afraid. Come to Him for He loves you. Just confess and forsake your sin. (Proverbs 28 : 13 ; 1John 1 : 9). Do not backslide. Do not run away. He wants you back home. Come to the throne of grace with boldness and obtain mercy. (Hebrews 4 : 14 – 16). Remember, perfect love drives away fear.
