Verse Of The Day: Rebuke not an elder, but implore him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. 1Timothy 5 : 1 – 2

LISTEN: The Bible says, “Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due. Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.” (Romans 13 : 7 – 8). We are enjoined to respect others and live in peace with one another. We should not encourage or sustain conflicts and war among ourselves. When we encourage endless conflict and crisis with one another, we have chosen to neglect the instructions of God.
Beloved, God should be honoured above all else. He should be honoured above our own interests and desires. He said in His word, that we should respect and honour those we should respect. Besides, He said that love is what we owe everyone, and should not deny anyone of it.

Our verse of the day says, ” Rebuke not an elder, but implore him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. (1Timothy 5 : 1 – 2). Apostle Paul urged Timothy and the church of God in His (Timothy’s) care to live in harmony with others, and to respect one another. He urged him and his audience to have respect for an elder and not speak harshly to him. Today, respect for an elder has been relegated to the background. People despise, rebuke, insult and mistreat an elder against the word of God. Older people are treated with so much disrespect in many places today. In the same way, rather than treat younger men and women as brothers and sisters, they have been abused, oppressed, mistreated, insulted, maimed and harmed in many ways. However, as God fearing person, you should heed God’s instructions instead. With all sincerity and purity, respect others and live in peace with them and the Lord will bless you.
