Verse Of The Day : Please forgive the iniquity of this people according to your great loyal love, just as you have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now.”Then the LORD said, “I have forgiven them as you asked. Numbers 14:19-20

LISTEN : To travail is to labour hard. It is to go through painful or difficult work or effort. When you see a pregnant woman whose time is due in the labour room, she does not find her condition funny. She becomes so anxious and uncomfortable because of the labour pain. When the pain increases and the baby starts coming out, her attendant (a midwife, Doctor, or a nurse) compels her to push and keep pushing until the baby is out. And when the baby is born, she smiles and rejoices in her success. This is equally what happens when prayer yields results. We rejoice for God answering our prayers. Surely, we will experience the power and benefits of prayer only when we are ready to travail in it (prayer). Prayer is one thing that requires effort, dedication and determination to get results. As children of God, we are to labour hard until something good is birthed in others and in our own life. Prayer should not be only about us, but about others too. We are to travail in prayer until God does something remarkable in the lives of others. My dear, prayer can be made for others and for different reasons. You can travail in prayer for someone else’s health problems, financial crisis, unbroken curses, trials, backsliding, sin, etc. We should learn to move away from selfish prayer to selfless prayer. Do not be always about yourself, but about others. In our verse of the day Moses travails in prayer for the sin of the children of Israel. He prayed until God pardoned their sin (Numbers 14:19-20). My dear, is there someone you should be praying for today? Perhaps, a backslider? a sick person? a sinner? someone facing crisis? Or the oppressed? Do it today. Pray for them until something good happens in their lives. Remember, God is ready to hear if you are eager to pray. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30

LISTEN : Faith is meant to confront obstacles. Without faith and courage you cannot surmount your obstacles. Faith produces courage and confidence. Faith is like a seed, when it is planted, result is expected. Friend, you cannot give birth to what you are not pregnant with. What you carry in your inside is what you can possibly produce outwardly. To give birth to a big thing you must have to be pregnant with a big thing too. Besides, it takes serious pain and labour to deliver a thing of great value. Truly, such comes with a huge price and sacrifice. Only those who are determined to be great can embrace the pain of life. (1 Chronicles 4:9,10). A lot of people run away from undertaking a journey of pain because they lack faith and courage. They fail to understand that, “gain is hidden in the stomach of pain.” The Israelites wanted a land that flows with milk and honey, but were afraid to confront the obstacles to their dream. The beautiful land of Canaan they desired was occupied by giants at that time, thereby making it difficult for them to penetrate the land. As a result, they gave up hope of entering the land. Conversely, Caleb acted in faith and challenged the people to believe they can overcome the giants. The Bible says, “Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.’ ” (Numbers 13:30). Beloved, have you been running away from challenges instead of embracing them? Do you know you can overcome if you are determined to face your obstacles? So, be strong and courageous and believe you can do it. Be wise!

Prayer : Dear Lord, help me to grow in faith daily and please you for the rest of my life, amen!
