Verse Of The Day: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
LISTEN: Sin is a sure way to losing one’s peace and joy. The Bible says, ” There is no peace, says the LORD, unto the wicked.” (Isaiah 48 : 22). The wicked is a stranger to the peace of God because his mind will remain unsettled and restless. The wicked is a slave to conscience and emotional torture. He will lose his sleep when he should be sleeping and resting. He will lose tranquility when others are at peace with themselves. Surely, he will experience endless war within and without until he returns to God in repentance. That is why we are enjoined by the word of God to hate sin and love righteousness. The Bible says, “Hate what is wrong, love what is right! Promote justice at the city gate! Maybe the LORD, the God who commands armies, will have mercy on those who are left from Joseph.” (Amos 5 : 15).
Beloved, God wants us to acknowledge our sins and need for His forgiveness. He is rich in mercy, hence, repentance is the way to forgiveness and restoration. God cannot show mercy to unrepentant sinners. But His love is on those who love Him. The Bible says, ” You who love the LORD, hate evil! He protects the lives of his faithful followers; he delivers them from the power of the wicked.” (Proverbs 29 : 27). Beloved, do not be unrepentant. Acknowledge your sin, repent and come to God for mercy and He will pardon you. Our verse of the day says, ” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). When you repent, you will enjoy forgiveness, fellowship with God, Salvation, eternal life, comfort, grace and mercy and peace with God. So, do not hesitate to make peace with God; rather repent, return and He will restore you for He is faithful and merciful.
