Verse Of The Day : Speak for those who cannot speak; seek justice for all those on the verge of destruction. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. Proverbs 31:8-9

LISTEN : A lot of things have gone wrong in the world today. Many governments and leaders of nations of the world have abandoned their responsibilities to protect lives and properties, alleviate the plight of the people, raise standard of living, defend the defenseless, give hope to the hopeless, and make life worthwhile for those they claim to serve or rule over; instead, they kill and maim the same people they sworn to protect, just to stay in power. Most judges judge for a reward. They work for the ‘highest bidder.’ Justice today seems to be mainly for the rich and not for the poor. What a world! What a complete neglect to our God-given responsibility! Beloved, whatever position you occupy, you are there to serve the purpose of God. And one of these purposes is to defend the poor and those who cannot defend themselves. Therefore, be the voice of the innocent person who has been denied justice; be the voice of the oppressed and afflicted if you have the power to do so. Never neglect this responsibility because God is watching us from heaven (Proverbs 24:11-12). My dear, speak up for the downtrodden and seek their deliverance. The Bible says, “Speak for those who cannot speak; seek justice for all those on the verge of destruction. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and oppressed.” (Proverbs 31:8-9). My dear, everyone of us has the responsibility to speak up and defend the rights of the afflicted and oppressed, and cry against injustice in our homes, societies, nations, schools, etc, until justice is done and seen to have been done. Friend, rise and do your own bit. Who knows, God may save someone through you. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Don’t be silent on injustice, rather speak up until something is done.
2. Determine to defend the oppressed and afflicted within your powers and trust God for intervention.
3. Discourage and speak against injustice in your home and protect the rights of the weak.
4. Shun corruption and insist on fairness and integrity wherever you are.

Prayer : Everlasting Father, you are the God of justice and mercy. The defender of the defenseless. Therefore, help me to fully represent your interests here on earth, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection : Everyone of us has the responsibility to speak up and defend the rights of the afflicted and oppressed, and cry against injustice in our homes, societies, nations, schools, etc, until justice is done.

Quote : “When those in authority kill and maim those they have sworn to protect, and judges judge only for a reward and favours the mighty; and justice seems to be solely for the rich, power has been grossly abused.”

Faith Confession : Today, I acknowledged that, we all have the responsibility to speak up against injustice, and defend the defenseless. Therefore, I will do my best to the glory of God, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know that, ‘the Gospels’ is the common name given to the first four books of the New Testament?

Today In History : March 29, 1986 A court in Rome acquits six men in a plot to kill the Pope.

Stunning Fact : Did you know wind doesn’t make a sound until it blows against an object?

A Word Of Blessing : You will make a difference. May you not abandon your God-given responsibility to humanity. May you serve and be honoured, in Jesus’ name, amen.

TOPIC : JESUS CHRIST IS THE RIGHT PATH TO GOD

Friday, March 29, 2019

Bible Verse : Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

LISTEN : It is practically impossible to arrive at your target destination if you choose to travel on a road that leads to a different destination. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. My dear, if you are searching for God, then, you must come to Him through Jesus Christ. Without faith in Christ Jesus, your search for God will be fruitless. We cannot accept God and reject the one (Jesus Christ) whom He has sent to us. Jesus Christ came with the message of truth from God. He said, “I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24). Beloved, the only way to escape Satan’s traps is to hear and obey the word of God. When we obey and believe the word of God we will never again be condemned, but receive eternal life through Christ Jesus. Henceforth, let us watch, examine and prove every idea, principle, opinion, trend, belief, etc., before accepting to act on, or adopt them as our own standards. We must not do anything just because everyone else is doing it, rather we should do it because we have proven it to be the perfect and acceptable will of God. Be wise!

Prayer : Almighty God, I thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Help me to follow Him for the rest of my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
