Verse Of The Day: Son of man, suppose a country sins against me by being unfaithful, and I stretch out my hand against it, cut off its bread supply, cause famine to come on it, and kill both people and animals. Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would save only their own lives by their righteousness, declares the sovereign LORD. Ezekiel 14 : 13 , 14.

LISTEN: I have heard people said things like, ” That Pastor is my father”; ” This Bishop is my relative”, “The church is our church”, “I am from a Christian home “. “My husband is a pastor”, “My wife is a committed Christian “, “My parents are God fearing”, “My community is a land of Christians”, My daughter and son are pastors ” etc. People believe that having someone who knows God is enough to be godly themselves. They believe that they would be saved just by the faith of another. Beloved, it does not work that way. In the ways of God, everyone is responsible for him or herself. God sees us individually, as a result, having a pastor father, mother, or relative does not guarantee God’s grace or mercy. It does not matter if you come from a Christian home, have godly children or parents, attend church, have a godly spouse, or not, you are responsible for yourself.

In our verse of the day, the Bible says, ” Son of man, suppose a country sins against me by being unfaithful, and I stretch out my hand against it, cut off its bread supply, cause famine to come on it, and kill both people and animals. Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would save only their own lives by their righteousness, declares the sovereign LORD. (Ezekiel 14 : 13 , 14.) Beloved, when the Israelites sinned against God and believed that nothing would happen to them because God was with them. God told Prophet Ezekiel to tell the people that He will punish every individual for his or her sin. He further said that nobody would be saved by the righteousness of another. Though the family of Noah was saved along side Noah during the great flood, but here God vowed to destroy the wicked even when Noah, Daniel and Job were present in the land. Beloved, this simply mean that you are responsible for yourself. You will be saved or destroyed by your actions. Therefore, beware of what you do with your life and the Lord will keep you.
