Verse Of The Day : I have said all these things to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble: but take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

LISTEN : Troubles may come, but victory is sure. Trouble is not the end of the road for a believer, but a test of faith. Surely, when you’re set for troubles they will fall at your feet. Couple of months ago, I told a story about a man who would wake up every morning to charge his son to brace up for any situation in life. He would say to his son, “Son, no matter how hard or frustrating a situation may be, don’t be discouraged or afraid; rather, brace up for the situation and you’ll not be defeated in life.” The boy grew up with that mindset and became strong and courageous. There was never a problem he doesn’t have the courage and strength to confront and overcome. Challenged by his courage and willpower, his friends asked him, “Friend, why is it that you always overcome in every situation no matter how bad?” the boy smiled and replied, “I grew up with a winning mindset. My father thought me to brace up for every situation.” My dear, what mindset do you grow up with? Do you grow up with a winning mindset or losing mindset? Are you thinking and living like a winner or a loser? Are you living like a victor or a victim? The truth is, how you think is important to what becomes of you (Proverbs 23:7). If you think like a loser you’re sure to continue to lose. But if you think like a winner you’ll be challenged to win. My dear, troubles will come no doubt, but victory is guaranteed by faith in our Saviour Jesus Christ (Mark 9:23). He has made the provision for our victory in every battle. So, rather than worrying about life’s circumstances, be strong and begin to celebrate your victory in Christ, and you’ll enjoy peace of mind even in difficult situations. Be wise!

TOPIC : LOVE FOR GOD CREATES PEACE OF MIND

Monday, December 16, 2019

Bible Verse : Great peace have they which love your law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalms 119:165

LISTEN : Love for God creates peace of mind. You can’t have God and not have peace. The fear of God gives real peace. Peace is possible in Christ Jesus. Jesus said to His disciples, “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage – I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33). The mystery behind the peace of God the believer enjoys in the midst of troubles is based on his relationship with God. He (believer) understands that all power belongs to God and therefore can’t be afraid of anything. He derives comfort and peace from the word of God. As a result, nothing can hurt or offend him. He is not afraid of bad news because his God is in control. Beloved, is your life characterised by crisis and war? Believe God and His word and you will enjoy great peace no matter the circumstance. Be wise!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, you give peace and comfort. Therefore, I ask for peace in my life today, in Jesus’ name, amen!
